Governmentally, statistics is used to establish national policies based on the rapid development of science and technology, complicated social and natural phenomena, and real data in society. In addition, a trend towards globalization in company management continuously introduces new paradigms and assessment tools in the field of statistics that can be used to forge new paths into the 21^st century.

Therefore, through cooperative research between departments, the Statistical Research Institute at Seoul National University is committed to the development of science and technology that furthers the functionality, usability, and accessibility of statistical collection and deployment.
